Benifits with Ultimate binder
Reduced Injuries
-
Exposure to shoulder, arm and back injuries due to stretching, bending and falls related to operating binders can be reduced during normal operation and especially when binders are remote from the driver or in an awkward position.
-
When the installation of the binder is to an anchor point near the side of the vehicle, the driver can easily install and tension the binder quickly and safely, while standing beside the vehicle. This can reduce falling or tripping injuries that occur while on the truck deck installing, tensioning or removing binders.
-
The binder weighs about 1/2 as much as other 3/8 ratchet or powered binders ie. Ultimate binder 6 lbs. Ratchet or ratchet style power binders 9 1/2 to 14 lbs.
-
Lower weight means less to transport and handle - (driver can easily carry 4- 6 at a time- 24 to 36 Lbs. ).
- The use of an impact wrench as well as the 30 % lower torque requirement to tension the binder results in the the force exerted by the operator to be minimized and can be accomplished with one hand.
- Most 1/4 to 3/8 in. portable impact wrenches with a 120 to 250 ft. lbs. rating, are light weigh and can tension the binder about twice as fast as most other powered screw type binders ( no gear reduction).
Operating Efficiency
-
No operation of the binder (rotation) is required to open or close the binder for storage or use, ( just push the ends of the open binder together to collapse it or pull apart to open it.)
-
The operator can hold the binder at one end and use it to extend the other end with the hook, (which is held in the optimum position by a hook locator ) to engage it remotely, with the chain.
-
12 to 15 inches of additional reach ( see sketch in operation) when installing or removing the binder from the load.
-
No Lock, chain wrap or handle contacting against the floor or the cargo is required to limit binder loosening -( decreases installation time )
-
The hooks can be replaced by other types of compatible clevis fitments or with adapters for slip hooks, clevis links, and use with chains, cables or webbing, etc.
-
If the power driver is not operable or is unavailable, it can be replaced by a ratchet handle, speed wrench, or in an emergency, clamped on the bolt between the yokes.
-
With the impact wrench being located at the end of the binder and the driver having an extended reach, the binder can be used in confined spaces were ratchet handles or other powered binder drivers are difficult to operate or engage
-
Hooks can be installed on the binder for Left handed operators (reversing the direction of the hooks pined in the ends of the binder)
-
simple design- no gears, locks or grease zerks to brake or wear out.
-
Simple design means any damaged binder parts are easily replaced by removing a clevis pin.
-
There is no handle, ratchet or gearbox to interfere with and damage the load. Ultimate binder can sit flat against the load and no rotating parts contact the load.
-
Binder is not locked with gearing failure.
-
Storage space is greatly reduced 9 binders fit into a box - 7 x 5 x 24 ins. 15 binders fit into a box - 7 x 7 x 24 ins

15 BINDERS IN A BOX 7 x 7 x 24 in.
DIRECT CONNECTION TO OTHER EQUIPMENT
Equipment such a chains can be coupled directly to the binder buy replacing a hook with a chain connector link and the clevis pin.
Also, adapters can be made to allow various hooks, cables, etc. to engage the binder with the clevis pins at either end of the binder.
