General notes

Binder operation in confined spaces

The ultimate Binder is very adaptable to confined spaces since the hook held in position on one end can be engaged with the chain or securement anchor while the operator is holding the other end and extending the binder to the point of engagement. Attachment  points can be under the load being secured (under heavy equipment, autos, trucks being transported, on ferries etc.) where the operation of ratchet and lever binder handles or other power drivers are difficult of impossible to  engage or operate.

Also, since the operator is at the end of the binder ( with the extension on the driver assembly being variable in length)  he can be more  remote from the binder and load itself (ie., not in the confined space under the load).

High and wide loads

Loads of logs, lumber, steel or concrete pipe or cable reals, etc, can utilize the majority of the width of the deck of a truck, etc. The operator may have little or no space available to work on the deck to install binders and are exposed to possible falls from the deck.

Also, the binders installed on these loads are usually well above the deck and the operator must reach up to install and work ratchet or lever binder handles or engage other power binder drivers, thus exposing the operator to injuries' such as strains to arms, shoulders and backs, etc.

The operator can extend the binder up the side of high wide loads and engage the remote hook with the chain well above the deck while holding the binder at the  lower end of the binder thus reducing the excess extension of the drivers reach.

The operator can engage the Ultimate binder with the impact driver positioned  comfortably at the bottom or bellow the end of the binder. This also allows the operator to easily check chain tension and if necessary retension chains at the 50 mile load check.

Surface damage to the sensitive product

Ratchet, lever and powered binders all have parts that are pressure points that protrude ( handles ,levers, hooks, bolt heads, gear boxes, etc.) that will mark, dent or scratch the surfaces that they contact such as, sheets and bundles of wood, steel sheets and plates, concrete blocks, pipe, bricks and wall board, etc.

Ultimate binder can be installed with the completely flat surfaces of the yokes against the product. Also, there is no contact with the load between the hooks, the bolt or the socket, even during rotation during the tensioning operation, since these parts are all within the yokes.  If the binder is used with the other side of the binder and the rotation limiters bars against the load, the contact is flat and spread over the flat limiter bars.
